Our editorial standard

We focus on stories that reward attention: unsolved cases, strange disappearances, cult histories, cold investigations, and quiet horrors that deserve more than a sixty-second clip. Some of our stories are dramatized retellings of public events. Others are fictional — clearly labeled as such. We do not invent facts about real, named victims.

Why dark mode

Our readers tend to come at night, on phones, after the rest of the house is asleep. The site is designed for that. Big serif type. Low light. No hostile pop-ups.
